Sit. Stay. Down. Rollover. My pup, Willa, will do anything for a treat, except balance one on her nose for a cute picture. Not going to happen. The whole thing just confuses the poor little one. One of her favorite treats are these homemade peanut butter cookies. These cookies are easy to make and have only four ingredients.
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup skim milk
Combine flour and baking powder in one bowl. Mix the peanut butter and milk together (I used the kitchenaid) and slowly add the dry ingredients. Mix until the dry ingredients are incorporated. The dough will be pretty dry.

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead to gather the last bits of dry ingredients. Roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with a cookie cutter. Dogs are really not particular on what shape you use, as long as they get a cookie they are happy.

Place the cookies on a greased baking sheet and bake at 375ยบ for 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool the cookies on a wire rack. You can store them in an airtight container or just feed them to your pup. Depending on the size of your cookie cutter this recipe makes on average 30 large bones. I unfortunately do not have a bone cookie cutter so Willa gets flowers but she also gets a lot more than 30 cookies.

Willa is the cutest.
