I thought posting my resolutions on the internet would hold me more accountable and I figured I should at least review them and see how I did.
- Be a nicer person - this one is kind of hard to judge. I tried to be nice and I know I'm not always. I think this can always be a work in progress.
- Have more patience - another super difficult one. I am not a patient person. I will continue to try to let the small things go.
- Drink more water - depends on the day.
- Read more with Lukey - success! He LOVES books and being read to. I think if he had his way he would sit in my lap all day and read book after book. I have many memorized at this point. I would say I probably read him 10-20 books a day (often the same book over and over and over again).
- Start baking regularly again (and possibly even blogging about it) - total fail.
- Spend more one on one time with Pete - not so much. It is hard when you have a little one. Babysitters aren't cheap and it is way easy to put everyone else first. I'll have to keep working on this one.
- Run a 5K - success! Ran a 5K in June the See Jane Run 5K with Lucas in the stroller. I then ran a 6 mile mud run in August, two half-marathons and another 5K.
- More frequent walks with Willa and Lukey - we walk or run together almost every day.
- Keep in contact with family and friends - working on it.
- Write more letters (at least once a month to Mom and Oma and Opa) - working on it. I've been calling more and writing less.
- Keep both blogs going - fail and success. This blog not so much. Lucas' blog totally although I ran out of steam after posting every day for a year. I would like to continue to post on his blog.
- Meet new friends/join some Mommy groups - success. I have found quite a few new friends here in Idaho and still have my friends back in California. Lucas is making friends too and we have fun on playdates.
- Spend less money and save more - been a really tough year and we are hoping that 2012 will be a bit kinder to us.
- Do a yoga class/swimming class with Lukey - we tried one of each plus a music class.
- Be supportive and helpful to Pete - I'm going to say I have been.
- Continue breastfeeding - we just stopped. 17 months. I would say success!
- More sewing projects and get better at crocheting - made some pillows and I've been crocheting hats and blankets.
- Read more books - success!
- Start a garden - had my first garden this past summer. Lots and lots of tomatoes and zucchini. Built two more garden boxes so this next year I will have an even better garden. I can't wait.
- Feel confident in a bikini again - lots of running equals success!
I need to come up with some new ones for this coming year. I feel pretty good with what I have accomplished this past year and I am so looking forward to what this new year brings.
